2018 CSA

We will be offering a small 26 week long CSA this year. The CSA or Community Supported Agriculture is set up for participants to invest in the farm and receive the benefits of the harvest. The cost will be $800 this year. Each week from mid-May through mid-November you will receive a crate of what is being harvested from the fields. Spring will find things like: asparagus, strawberries, lettuces, spinach, kale and peas. Of course summer brings on the tomatoes, green beans, blueberries, beets, summer squashes, peppers, potatoes, onions and eggplant. In the fall, winter squash, cabbage, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower just to name a few. All of our produce is grown organically. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card. We will have to add a 2.75% fee on the credit card total. All monies must be received by March 1st. If you would like to pay over the next couple of months, that’s fine, with a minimum $200 sign up fee. Full payment must be in by March 1. The most important thing is to get signed up early. We will only be accepting 15 members for our CSA this year. If you decide to forego the CSA this year or miss out on the limited number of open spots, remember our farm market will be open most days each week during the growing season. As you know, farming is a risky business. There can be weather, pest and disease related problems that could, potentially, wipe out a crop. By investing in the farm you are taking the same risk we do everyday. Just so you know. Please email or call with any questions.

We will be having a chicken CSA this year with details coming soon.

School of Crops

Introducing the "School of Crops!" Have you always wanted to grow some of your own food? Have you tried before and by harvest time you had one tomato and a bean to show for all your hard work? Rousedale Farm presents the "School of Crops”. Join us for monthly meetings, January- December to discuss and learn how to make this garden thing work. Classes will be held the third Wednesday of each month. You can sign up for the entire year in advance for $120 due by January 17 or pay as you go for $15 per month. We will have special guests and I'm sure a lot of fun along the way! Our first School of Crops class will be held at the farm on Wednesday evening, January 17th at 7. This month we will discuss your favorite veggies and fruit, garden site selection, ordering seeds, soil testing, whether to use seeds or plants, what going organic means, our planting calendar and more. Email us for questions or to sign up. Make sure you bring your #2 pencil! Please RSVP by Monday, January 15.
